Four cute male acrobats, mostly topless, sometimes also bottomless but coyly covered with silver trays, do cool circus tricks in Godz.

Hercules, Dionysus, Cupid and Apollo are in the house. They can tumble, balance, whipcrack and trapeze with the best of them, but they definitely don't take themselves too seriously.  

Based at The Vault, in the Fringe’s new circus hub, Runaway Festival Park, GODZ was jumping on Saturday night. There was not a single empty seat in the tent. 

The boys of Head First Acrobats (Thomas Gorham, Callan Harris, Jordan Twartz and Liam Dummer) have been plying their trade in comedy acrobatics for several years and are regulars on the performing circuit. Coming from a sell-out season in Adelaide Fringe, GODZ is already well-worn in and comfortable in its Greek-themed shenanigans. It's a crowd pleaser, no doubt. 

In lesser hands, this loosely narrated quartet could fall further than an ill-timed backflip, but GODZ is fun from start to finish, peppered with strong handstand work, group acrobatics, strap routines and diabolo.  

It's a rollicking hour that gets wackier as it goes, especially when Hercules (Harris) is sent to the underworld and then chastised by nuns. All four end up acro-dirty dancing to Rhiana and an aerial act between nuns and demi-God dishes up plenty of hijinks.  

With voice over, slapstick and a larrikin spirit, Head First weave their circus prowess into a lot of silly, that skillfully coheres into an extremely fun show that will leave a huge smile on everyone’s dial.
